Wilma Jean Harper, 92, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at NHC Healthcare Madisonville.

She was born on March 29, 1926 in Hopkinsville, KY to the late William A. Fuller and Leona McCord Fuller. Wilma was a certified medical assistant and worked in nursing for twenty-seven years and later retired after working fifteen years with Dr. M.E. Arnold and Dr. Charles Fisher at Trover Clinic in Madisonville. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Earlington, KY for forty-five years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard C. Harper in 1986; her daughter, Carol Anne Harper Poteet in 2001; her granddaughter, Teresa Poteet in 1985; and her sisters, Annis Sanford and Desma Morris both of whom were from Hopkinsville.

Survivors include her son, Jerry Harper and wife, Sarah of Slaughters, KY; daughter, Janet Mitchell and husband, Dickie of Madisonville; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and a niece.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Rev. Rob Doner officiating. A private burial will be held at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

The visitation will be from Noon until the service hour Friday at the funeral home.
