William Yates, Jr., 60, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2020.

He was born on March 1, 1960 in Louisville, KY to the late Hattie Proctor Yates and Reverend William Yates, Sr. Yates worked at Tyson Foods and formerly worked at Lear and Jennmar. Anyone that knew Yates, knew of his love for fishing. On his day off his phrase was "You know where to find me" and anyone that knew him would know he was somewhere with a fishing pole in his hand. He also loved music and loved to DJ in his spare time. He was a member of the Bass Club and AME Zion Church in Madisonville.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mildred Yates and Derita Long.

Survivors include his son, Maurice (Chevonne) Yates of Madisonville; bonus son, Jonathan Yates of Madisonville; sister, Calynda Long of Louisville; grandson, Chris Yates of Madisonville; nieces, Takira Campbell of Hopkinsville, KY, Nakia Campbell of Madisonville and Janelle Hall of Louisville; caregiver, Dee Yates of Madisonville; and a host of of other special family members and friends that all loved him dearly.

A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville with Revered Debra Slaton officiating. Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville is in charge of the arrangements.
