William "Bill" Stokes, 64, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at his home.

He was born on February 26, 1952 in Dawson Springs, KY to the late Emma Stokes. Bill was a United States Navy Veteran and worked with Asplundh Tree Service and was a self employed painter. He attended Pritchetts Chapel in Hanson, KY.

In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his sisters, Millie Brasher and Rebecca Stokes Edwards.

Survivors include his son, Billy of Belvidere, IL; sisters, Ouida Stokes of Georgia and Donna Rodgers of Nortonville, KY; brothers, Kenny Stokes of Charleston, KY and Fred Stokes of White Plains, KY; granddaughter, Gianna; grandson, Will; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at New Salem Cemetery in Nortonville, KY with Pastor Phillip Cook officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Hopkins County Honor Guard. Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville is in charge of the arrangements.
