Wayne Jenkins, 78, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Monday, July 4, 2016 at Baptist Health Madisonville.

He was born on December 30, 1937 in Nebo, KY to the late Ruby and Herbert Jenkins. Wayne was a United States Army Veteran and was formerly a truck driver for RUAN Trucking. He enjoyed fishing and UK basketball. He was a member and elder at Bethlehem Christian Church in Madisonville.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Rickard Jenkins; daughter, Candice Jenkins; son, Roger Wayne Jenkins; sisters, Wanda Ipock and Bonnie Outler; and a brother, Marvin Jenkins.

He is survived by a daughter, Melanie Campbell of Madisonville; sisters, Sylvia Gardner of Nashville, TN and Sue Marks and husband Paul of Madisonville; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday July 7, 2016 at Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Tim Mason officiating and Bro. Michael Marks assisting. Burial to follow in Bethlehem Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted graveside by the 101st Airborne Division Ft. Campbell and the Hopkins County Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in Wayne's memory to Bethlehem Christian Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
