Wayne Hamby, 76, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 6:03 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Baptist Health Madisonville.

He was born on May 2, 1938 in St. Charles, KY to the late Mary Pearl Johnson Hamby and Urie Kibel Hamby. He was formerly a coal miner with Hamby Coal Mines and he was of the Pentecostal faith.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Dwayne Hamby.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Helen Hamby; his son, Rick (Rhonda) Hamby of St. Charles, KY; his daughters, Jana Gordon of Madisonville, Debbie (Leon Lyons) Case of Owensboro, KY and Meeka (Jason) Brandon; his brothers, J.T. Hamby, Odel (Betty) Hamby, Bobby (Sandy) Hamby and Raymond Hamby; his sister, Annette (Harold) Miller; numerous grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2014 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Don Neal officiating. Burial to follow at Union Temple Cemetery in St. Charles.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour Friday at Harris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Gordon, Matt Gordon, Richard Hamby, Jeremy Hamby, Steffan Case and Scott Gee. Honorary pallbearers will be Trevor Gordon and Timothy Alexander.
