Woodrow Wayne Bailey, 84, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at the Heartford House in Owensboro, KY.

He was born on January 7, 1939, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Jessie Marie Childers Bailey and Woodrow Marshall Bailey. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and the Kentucky Army National Guard. He was formerly employed as a coal miner at Island Creek Coal Company. He graduated from Madisonville High School. Wayne was a faithful member of Calvary Temple Church in Hanson, KY. He deeply loved each member of his family. He had lots of dancing friends and was known for his enjoyment of dancing and listening to the local bands. He never met a stranger and truly enjoyed life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Fay Crews Bailey; stepson, Stephen Vickery; and step-grandson, Jimmy Wayne Abbott.

Survivors include daughter, Angela Marie (Travis) Howard; son, Michael Dewayne Bailey; grandson, Ian Howard; stepchildren, Brenda Moore, Ronnie (Judy) Vickery, Tim (Pearl) Vickery, and Janice (Robert) Mangum; companion, Sue Ann Vincent; several step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; and several step great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 8, 2024, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Pastor Shaun Vickery officiating. Burial to follow at Bethlehem Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Christopher Vickery, Ray Miller, Parlon Abbott and Matthew Lutz.
