Virginia Stone, 78, of Nortonville, KY. passed away at 7:53 p.m. on Friday, September 2, 2011 at Brighton Cornerstone Healthcare in Madisonville, KY.

She was born on September 9, 1933 in Manchester, KY. to the late William Barrett and Eva Barrett Johnson. She formerly owned and operated Stones Nursing Home in New Albany, IN. and volunteered at the Christian Food Bank of Hopkins County. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George Stone; a brother, Jesse Barrett and a sister, Flora Sester.

She is survived by three sisters, Donna Godwin of Madisonville, Bessie Wolfe of Manchester and Margaret Possoli of Marion, FL.; three brothers, Frank Barrett of Murray, KY., Art Barrett of Stewart, IL. and Keith Barrett of Elgin, IL.; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday September 6, 2011 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Larry Jones officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service hour Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home.
