Thelma Jewell Phaup Clark went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 14, 2014.

She was born on March 30, 1929 in Webster County, KY to the late Buck and Daella Watson. Thelma owned the Shady Nook Drive-In  in grapevine in the 1950's and 1960's and she also ran the cafeteria at the hospital for years. She loved the outdoors, fishing and camping. She spent many years helping out with the Special Olympic Fishing Tournament held at Kentucky Lake where she also enjoyed walking along the shore line picking up sea shells. She enjoyed dancing at the Senior Citizens Center and the American Legion, she always talked about "cutting a rug." She also enjoyed playing cards and bunco. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxillary and was a member of Crofton Methodist Church, when Thelma moved to Madisonville she became a member of Daystar Worship Center. Thelma truly loved her dog Spot who just passed away a month ago.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Clark; her son, Rusty Clark; and her step-son, Junior Clark.

She is survived by her son, Dale (Henny) Phaup; her daughter, Brenda (Jess) McDowell; three step-daughters, Mildred, Devona, and JoAnn; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2014 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Donnie Neal officiating. Burial to follow at Ridgetop Cemetery in Crofton, Ky.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Monday at Harris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jess McDowell, Mac McDowell, Ronnie Phaup, Donnie Phaup, Cody McDowell and Curtis Phaup. Honorary pallbearers will be Lonnie Phaup and Amon Morris.
