Sunnie Dariel Shipp, 75, of Manitou, KY passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville, KY.

He was born on August 17, 1947, in Earlington, KY, to the late Dorothy Shipp. Sunnie was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a self-employed truck driver. He loved woodworking and fishing. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He was a faithful member of Maranatha Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Clark; sister, Barbara Clifford; and brother, Neal Shipp.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-eight years, Nancy Oldham Shipp of Manitou; daughter, Michele (Johnny) Gibson of Nixa, MO; sons, Jeffrey (Nichole) Shipp of Dixon, KY, and Chad (Heather) Shipp of Manitou; daughter, Elizabeth (Derek) Cartwright of Manitou; sister, Ginger (Gary) Tucker of Dawson Springs, KY; eleven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Whitmer officiating. Burial to follow at Concord Cemetery in Manitou. Military honors will be conducted graveside by the Hopkins County Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Jeffrey Shipp, Chad Shipp, Noah Gibson, Corie Marsh, Carson Shipp, Gannon Shipp, Tyler Gibson, Hayden Shipp, and Roarik Shipp. Honorary pallbearers are Derek Cartwright and Johnny Gibson.
