Carolyn Sue McDowell Bronke, 85, of Powderly, KY, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the Heartford House in Owensboro, KY

She was born on October 31, 1940, in Central City, KY to the late Virginia Brown McDowell and Ray McDowell. She was a beautician for Magic Mirror in Central City and retired from Flynn in Greenville, KY. She enjoyed painting, crocheting and shopping. Sue was a member of Green River Chapel in Central City.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Ray McDowell.

Her survivors include her son, Terry Bronke of Powderly; and her niece, Amy Revlett of Sacramento, KY.

A private burial will be held at Fairmont Cemetery in Central City. Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville, KY was entrusted with care.
