Sudie A. Simms
MADISONVILLE, Ky. — Sudie A. Simms, 72, of Madisonville died at 6:50 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2009, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

She was born November 9, 1936 in Hopkins County, Ky. to the late John Johnston and Margaret Johnston. She was a retired CNA at New Dawson Nursing Home. She was of the Christian faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, D.B. Simms; two sons Roger Simms and Ricky Simms; a grandson Ricky Bennett, Jr.; four sisters; and one brother.

She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn Giffin, Kay and Kent Hurley, Donna and Jeffrey Bullock all of Dawson Springs, Ky. and Marilyn Rudd of Madisonville; one son, David Simms of Nebo, Ky; three sisters, June Ross, Nancy Heaton and Sharon Cobb; one brother, Johnny Johnston; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2009, in the chapel at Harris Funeral Home. Memorial interment services will be at a later date.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at Harris Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
