Sherry Gayle Myrick Austin, 83, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Hillside Center in Madisonville.

She was born on September 6, 1940, in Evansville, IN, to the late Frances Melton Myrick and James Myrick. She enjoyed gardening and playing cards. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was of the Methodist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl C. Austin; daughter, Kimberly Austin Massey; and son, Carl Wayne Austin.

Survivors include her sons, Kenneth (Beth) Austin of Slaughters, KY and Keith Austin of Madisonville; brothers, Dennis (Mary) Myrick of Evansville, IN and Brian Myrick of Onton, KY; grandchildren, Ali, Michael, Jared, Scotty, and Erin; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Pastor Jared Austin officiating. Burial to follow at Clearview Cemetery in Hanson, KY.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Kenneth Austin, Keith Austin, Michael Austin, Jared Austin, Scotty Massey, and Richard Francis.
