Scotty Dewayne Adams, 50, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh, IN.

He was born on June 15, 1971, in Madisonville, KY to Michelle Gentry Adams of Madisonville and Larry Adams of Greenville, KY. Scotty was employed by Ensign-Bickford Aerospace and Defense Company in Graham, KY. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He enjoyed spending time with his family, outdoor activities that included fishing, camping and hiking, and he was an avid football and basketball fan.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elsie and Bill Adams and John and Delora Downing.

Survivors include his wife of twenty-nine years, Kellie Doane Adams of Madisonville; his mother, Michelle Gentry Adams of Madisonville; his father and stepmother, Larry (Betty) Adams of Greenville; daughter, Kaitlyn Adams of Madisonville; sons, Trevor Adams and Chad Adams, both of Madisonville; sisters, Marchelle (Lowell) Nevitt of Hanson, KY and Hannah (Marcus) Grace of Madisonville; brothers, Allen Adams and Seth Adams, both of Madisonville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leon and Patricia Doane of Madisonville; several nieces and nephews; and his family pets, Dexter Dewayne, Itchy, Softy, and Reece.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Dr. Michael Knight officiating. A burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Madisonville with military honors conducted by the Hopkins County Honor Guard.

A visitation will be held on Monday, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and then from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour on Tuesday at the funeral home.

The pallbearers are Allen Adams, Cody Donahoo, Kevin Doane, Leon Doane, Jr., Ryan Doane, Brad Hight, Greg Malone, and Seth Adams. Honorary pallbearers are Trevor Adams and Chad Adams.
