Samual Joe "Sam" Lindsey, 23, of Mortons Gap, Ky. passed away at 6:26 a.m. on Friday, October 28, 2011 at Armstrong Coal Company in Centertown, Ky.

He was born on August 31, 1988 in Madisonville, Ky. to Joe Lindsey Jr. and Connie Marks. He was employed as a blaster with MEMSCO in Dawson Springs, Ky. He was also a volunteer firefighter with the Mortons Gap and White Plains Fire Department. He was of the Holiness faith. He enjoyed many sports and loved the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jason Cannon and his grandfather, Papaw Joe Lindsey Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Misty Lindsey; his son, Aden Lindsey of Mortons Gap; his father, Joe and Kathy Lindsey of Madisonville; his mother, Connie Marks of Henderson, Ky.; his father-in-law, Floyd Ladd of Caldwell Co., Ky.; his mother-in-law, Debra Howell of Mortons Gap; two sisters, Ashley Lindsey and Christa Groves both of Madisonville; two brothers, Joshua Marks of Henderson and Tylor Lindsey of Madisonville; one niece and five nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2011 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Owen Lindsey officiating and Bro. Matt Frias assisting. Burial will be in Rose Dale Cemetery in Dawson Springs, Ky.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Thursday at Harris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be members of the Mortons Gap and White Plains Fire Department.
