Raymond Edward Richardson, 68, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 9:47 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

He was born on May 5, 1944 in Madisonville, KY to the late Edward Woodrow Richardson and Anna Grace Oakley Miller. He was formerly a coal miner with Island Creek Coal Company Hamilton #1. He was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Chapter E and was a former member of the Dixie Flyers. He was a member of Madison Avenue Holiness Church in Madisonville.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Dunbar and Margie Bryant and his step-father, Bill Miller.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hancock Richardson; his son, Joseph Edward Richardson of Anton, KY; four sisters, Judy Yeoman of Dixon, KY, Carolyn Underwood of Barnsley, KY, Mary Jo Bryant of Anton and Teresa Tapp of Madisonville; his brother, Rusty Richardson of Rochester, NY; two grandchildren, Cody Richardson and Chris Smith; two great-grandchildren, Azyln Smith and Gavin Smith; former daughter-in-law, Angela Massey Sosh; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2012 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Rev. Mike Spears officiating and Rev. Steve Meredith assisting. Burial will be in Browder Church Cemetery in Anton.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour Saturday at Harris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Heath Hancock, Wayne Tapp, Homer Sosh, Ronnie Hawkins, Don Moore, and David Penella. Honorary pallbearers will be Gail Farris, Cody Richardson and Chris Smith.

Memorial contributions may be made to Madison Avenue Holiness Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
