Raymond E. Jones, 93, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at his home.

He was born on February 5, 1923 to the late Clara Jewell Jones and Elmer Lee Jones. Raymond was formerly a coal miner at Peabody Coal Company and attended First General Baptist Church in Madisonville. He loved fishing, hunting and working on the farm.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Clayborn Jones.

Survivors include his wife of seventy-two years, Jewell Jones; daughter, Judy Oakley and husband, Alan of Manitou, KY; son, Randall Jones and wife, Lana of Decatur, AL; grandsons, Troy Oakley and wife, Stacey of Nortonville, KY and Lee Jones of New Orleans, LA; granddaughter, Alanda Wagner and husband, Damon of Madisonville; three great-grandsons.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2016 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Randall Jones officiating and Bro. Troy Oakley assisting. Burial to follow at Oakley Home Cemetery in Manitou.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Alan Oakley, Damon Wagner, Dylan Wagner, Hagan Oakley, Josh Oakley and Lee Jones.

Memorial contributions may be made in Raymond's memory to First General Baptist Church.
