Peggy Jean Thomas, 90, of Madisonville, KY passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 with family by her side.

She was born on May 13, 1925 in Madisonville to the late Anna May and Bill Higgins. Mrs. Thomas enjoyed walking and loved shopping. She enjoyed talking with friends and met a lot of new friends along the way. She will truly be missed by many.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Major B. Thomas; sisters, Mabel Roberts, Carrie Carnahan and Lyle Troop; and brothers, Pete and Carl Higgins.

Survivors include her son, Steve Thomas and wife, Kay of Hanson, KY; granddaughter, Jenniffer Thomas Gish of Anton, KY; great-grandson, Brayden Gish of Anton; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Mike Gish officiating. At that time the family would invite friends and family to celebrate her life with them by sharing your stories and fond memories of her. Burial for Mrs. Thomas will be private. Honorary pallbearer is Brayden Gish.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour Saturday at the funeral home.
