Patricia Ann Sumner Duarte, 79, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN.

She was born on October 23, 1946, in Central City, KY, to the late Wanda Galbreath Butler and Layton Odell Sumner, Sr. She enjoyed sewing, antiques, and showing cocker spaniels dogs. She had a school in Haiti and was involved in several mission trips to Haiti. Patricia was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Earlington, KY.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert William Sumner and Layton "Short Cut" Edward Sumner, Jr.; and her sister, Brenda Joyce Berry.

Her survivors include her husband of forty-six years, Ceaser O. Duarte of Madisonville; brother, Michael Eugene Sumner of Central City; aunt, Ruth Morrow of Madisonville; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Harris Funeral Home was entrusted with care.
