Monte Curtis, 70, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at his home.

He was born on December 10, 1953, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Pauline Stevens Curtis and Anthony Curtis. He was formerly employed as a coal miner with Armstrong Coal. He enjoyed playing PlayStation, hunting, fishing, and mowing. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Monte was of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Judy Hicklin Curtis of Madisonville; daughter, Lisa Weaver of Madisonville; brothers, Phil (Dawn) Curtis of Madisonville and David (Jane) Curtis of Pensacola, FL; grandsons, Corey (Krystina) Curtis of Elizabethtown, KY and Dalton (Jamele) Weaver of Madisonville; one great-grandson; and several nieces.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Fleming officiating. Burial to follow at Hicklin Cemetery in Anton.

Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the funeral hour on Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Corey Curtis, Dalton Weaver, Caleb Crabtree, Bryce Tichenor, Jakkur Stum, and Latrell Hopson. Honorary pallbearer is Phil Curtis.
