Mildred Cunningham, 69, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at her home.

She was born on February 5, 1954, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Mary Ruby Cunningham Holmes and Alvin Earl Holmes. She was formerly employed as a nurse aide at Clinic Convalescent Center and also at Hardees as a biscuit maker. She enjoyed crocheting and crossword puzzles. Her greatest joy was caring for her only granddaughter, Kelinna. Mildred was a member of Salem Primitive Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Lynn Cunningham; infant daughter, Crystal Faye Cunningham; infant brother, Harold Holmes; and brother, Troy Holmes.

Survivors include her son, David Eugene Cunningham of Madisonville; daughter, Karen (Henry) Cunningham Freeman of Clarksville, TN; brothers, Larence Holmes, Bennie Holmes, Darrell Holmes, Paul Holmes, Clinton Holmes, Nelson Holmes, Wesley Holmes, and Tracy Holmes; sisters, Rosemary Starks and Peggy Holmes; granddaughter, Kelinna Freeman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at Olive Branch Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Winfrey officiating. Burial to follow at Olive Branch Cemetery. Harris Funeral Home was entrusted with care.
