Melvina Cox Hays Joiner
MADISONVILLE, KY – Melvina Cox Hays Joiner, 82, of St. Charles, Ky. died at 9:58 a.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville,
Ky.

She was born Feb. 23, 1926, in
Hazard, Ky. to the late James Cox
and Alafair Sawyers Cox. She had worked as a nurse's aide, was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her first husband, William Hays on May 21, 1994; three sons; three daughters; two sisters; and five
brothers.

She is survived by her husband James Joiner of St. Charles, Ky. six daughters, Chessie Hale of Hopkinsville, Ky., Susie Cook of Ludowic, Ga., Faye Robinson of Erin, Tenn., Madelene Osborne of St. Charles, Ky., Sherry Lynn Hays of St. Charles and Wanda Kay Rucker of Benton, Ky.; two sons, Cephis Hays of Princeton, Ky. and Thomas Hays of Madisonville; five stepdaughters; one stepson; 22 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Officiating the service will be Rev. Ellis Payne. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2008, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville. Burial will be in Union Temple Cemetery at St. Charles.

Pallbearers will be Jason Osborne, Michael Stagner, William Cook Jr., Colden Smith, William D. Robinson and Richard A. Robinson.
