Melrose McKechnie Thomas, 90, of Madisonville, Ky. passed away at 12:05 p.m. on Tuesday February 1, 2011 at Brighton Cornerstone Healthcare in Madisonville.

She was born on May 19, 1920 in Fordsville, Ky. to the late B.E. Reynolds and Mamie Strother Reynolds. She owned and operated the Princess Cafe and the Dairy Dip in Madisonville. She was a member of Madisonville Church of Christ. In her spare time she enjoyed crafting, sewing and crocheting.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Neil R. McKechnie; her second husband, Roy Thomas; and a daughter, Brenda Carpenter.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann (Ralph) Weaver of Madisonville; two sons, Ellis McKechnie of Carbondale, Ky and Jack R. McKechnie of Madisonville; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m on Thursday February 3, 2011 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Russell Kline officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Thursday at Harris Funeral Home.
