Mary Virginia Smith Cary's Obituary
Mary Virginia Smith Cary, 88, of Madisonville, Ky. passed away at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2009, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
She was born September 3, 1921, in Hopkins County Kentucky, to the late Desmond Smith and Myrtle Robinson Smith. She was a homemaker and was a graduate of Dalton High School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Madisonville and was a member of the churches Upper Room Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Parker Cary and a sister Agnes Smith Hall.
She is survived by several cousins and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 26, 2009 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville, with Rev. Weyman Mcguire officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville, Ky. Pallbearers will be Gene Whitmer, Wesley Schulz, Andrew Needling, Timothy VanMieghem, Tyler VanMieghem and Jerry L. Liggett. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis VanMieghem and Charles Hook.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time Monday at Harris Funeral Home.
