Mary Reace Dixon Harris, 89, of Manitou, KY, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2023, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville, KY.

She was born on March 28, 1934, in Nebo, KY, to the late Lena Hyatt Dixon and Jessie "Lewis" Dixon. She was a 1952 high school graduate of Nebo School. She enjoyed sewing, canning, and cooking, in which she was known to make the best squash casserole. Mary Reace was a faithful member of Nebo Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-six years, James "J.C." Clifford Harris; and brothers, Harvey Dixon and James O. Dixon.

Survivors include her stepson, Terry James (Jetta) Harris of Madisonville; step-grandson, Chris (Stephanie) Oakley of Manitou, KY; nephews, Carroll Dixon of Nebo and Tommy Dixon of Madisonville; three great-nieces, Rachel Dixon Miller, Tenille Dixon Pawlus, and Tara Dixon; and five step-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2023, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Rhye officiating. Burial to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Carroll Dixon, Tommy Dixon, Peter Pawlus, Chris Oakley, Jerry Russ, and Roy Day.
