Martha Tompkins Holmes, 64, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at Baptist Health Madisonville.

She was born on July 7, 1951 in Slaughters, KY to the late Helen and Thomas Rufus Tompkins.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Samantha Sue Holmes; sister, Lisa Scott and a brother, Donald Tompkins.

Survivors include her daughters, Tara Holmes Darnell and Tonia Holmes both of Madisonville; brother, James Tompkins of Hanson, KY; sisters, Mary Helen Harris of Hanson, Betty Shaw, Dora Johnston, Janada Thomas, Glenda Holmes all of Madisonville and Carol Peavler of Hanson; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Donald Duncan officiating. Burial to follow at Sassafrass Grove Cemetery in Onton, KY.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Frank Peyton, Jason Creasey, William Thomas, Terrence Thomas, Skylar Bumpus and Mark Woodruff.
