Martha Brown May, 80, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at her home.

She was born on July 26, 1935 in Madisonville, KY to the late Anna Lee Brown and Arthur Owen "Tubby" Brown. Martha retired as an editor at The Messenger newspaper. She was and avid UK fan and she was a member of First Baptist Church in Madisonville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ben G. May.

Survivors include her daughters, Tracy Melton and Teresa Brown both of Madisonville; sisters, Patricia Brown Harris of Florida and Nancy Brown Sexton of Georgia; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2016 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Dr. Stan May officiating. Burial to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Cody Melton, Scott Laffoon, Kyle Laffoon, Colby Burge, and Adrian Uher.
