Marion "Glenn" Walker, MADISONVILLE, Ky.- Marion Walker, 79, of Madisonville, died at 5:25 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville, Ky.

He was born August 12, 1929, in Hopkins County, Ky., to the late Marion and Myrtle Walker. He was a retired coal miner and owner and operator of Walker and Son Coal Co. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean War era. He was a member of Grapevine Christian Church in Madisonville, Ky.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Una Cox Walker, of Madisonville; a son, Brian Walker, of Madisonville; a sister, Lois Moore, of Kansas City, Mo.; a cousin, Calvin Walker, of Madisonville; a granddaughter, Sierra Walker, of Madisonville; and one niece.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2009, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Mark Carr officiating and Bro. Jack Holt assisting. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville, Ky.

Pallbearers will be Mike Todd, Kenneth Todd, Russell Fischells, Tom Turner, John Underwood and Rodney Adler. Honorary pallbearers will be Calvin Walker, Jess McGary, Mitchel Adams and Tony Salmon.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday and from noon until service time Sunday at Harris Funeral Home.
