Marilyn Smith Fulkerson, 86, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022, at her home.

She was born on May 29, 1935, in Rumsey, KY to the late Evelyn Markwell Smith and Reginald Smith. Marilyn was formerly the director of the Christian Food Bank of Hopkins County and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Madisonville. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and watching soap operas. Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Fulkerson, Sr.; son, Charles Fulkerson, Jr.; brothers, Bobby Smith, Lyndal Smith and Jimmy Smith; and her sister, Donna Joyce Smith.

Survivors include her daughters, Charlene Jessie of Madisonville and Angela Tudor of Fort Wayne, IN; sons, Barry (Rita) Smith of Madisonville and Mike Fulkerson of Drakesboro, KY; sisters, Betty Lou Markwell of Central City, KY, Sue Capps and Lois Smith Jones both of Sacramento, KY; brother, Donnie Smith of Graham, KY; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 23, 2022, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Father Carl McCarthy officiating. Burial to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

A visitation will be held from Noon until the funeral hour Monday at the funeral home.

The pallbearers are Jason Reynolds, Jeremy Reynolds, Chad Smith, Ryan Burden, James Fulkerson, Caleb Reynolds and Jackson Reynolds.
