Mariana Williams Rhew, 78, of Madisonville, Ky passed away at 2:31 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville, In.

She was born on May 13, 1936 in Madisonville, KY to the late Thusie Williams and Walter Williams, Sr. She retired from the State of Kentucky Department of Transportation in Madisonville and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Madisonville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin "Ben" Rhew; her brothers, Curtis Williams, B. Oran Williams and Walter "June Bug" Williams, Jr.; and her sister, Gladys Prather.

She is survived by her sons, Rod (Shannon) Rhew and Walter (Angela) Rhew of Madisonville; her daughter, Tara "Tooter" (Bobby) Steckler of Denver, CO; her sister, Katherine Williams Stone-Stevens of Madisonville; her granddaughter, Susie Steckler of Denver and her grandson, Austin Steckler of Denver; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2014 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Rev. Dale Carden officiating. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour Thursday at Harris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Leonard Atkinson, Bobby Steckler, Austin Steckler, Randy Duncan, Brad Cullen and Gary Maddern. Honorary pallbearer will be William Atkinson.

Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church or the Hopkins County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
