Louise Gillum Leavell, 76, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Ridgewood Terrace Health and Rehab in Madisonville.

She was born on March 9, 1950, in Earlington, KY, to the late Nellie Louise Barton and Dave Gillum. She was a self-employed beautician and also worked in retail at J.C. Penny and K-Mart. She enjoyed shopping. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Louise was of the Methodist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bobby Barton and Louis Gillum.

Her survivors include her daughter, Samantha Louise Leavell of Madisonville; and her grandson, Jhani (Alyssa) Leavell of Cincinnati, OH.

A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Wesley Chapel CME Church, 179 N. Kentucky Avenue in Madisonville with Rev. Michael Reed officiating. Harris Funeral Home was entrusted with care.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service hour at the church.
