Linda A. Hayes, age 79, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Madisonville Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on May 17, 1939 in Mortons Gap, KY, the daughter of the late Charles Henly Adams and the late Mary Olive Sandefur.

She graduated from Madisonville High School in 1957 and Western KY University in 1960 with a BS degree. Linda worked for State Community Based Services Protection for thirty-six years and was a State Licensed Social Worker. She was a Kentucky Colonel. Linda was a member of the Hopkins Co. Genealogical Society since 1978, and  was an avid genealogy researcher and helped others with their family research. She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Madisonville. Linda was a very caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Fulgham on October 24, 2014.

She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Bean; brother, Scottie Adams; sisters, Kandi Drake, (William), Melissa Bearden and Theresa Adams; grandsons, Jordan Wesley Bean (McKayla), and Leslie Dale Fox (Heather); and a great-grandson, Keaton Lynn Fox.

A memorial service will be officiated by Becky Zahrte and Bill Brinkley on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with visitation from 11 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral home. Private burial to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hopkins County Genealogical Society, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
