Leo E. Wirthlin, 61, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Deaconess Midtown in Evansville, IN.

He was born on July 3, 1961, in Los Angeles, CA, to Dorothy J. Roland and the late Leo E. Wirthlin, Sr. Leo was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was formerly employed as a deputy jailer for the Hopkins County Detention Center and a firearms instructor for Hopkins County. He enjoyed shooting his firearms, riding his motorcycle, cooking, and listening to music.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Robert Roland; daughter, Teresa Shari Nelson; and brother, Jerry Wirthlin.

Survivors include his mother, Dorothy J. Roland of Madisonville; fiancée, Theresa Lawrence of Madisonville; son, Dominic (Liesl) Wirthlin of Fountain Inn, SC; daughter, Tessa Hines of Mt. Carmel, IL; stepchildren, Nicholas Kong of Washington D.C. and Danielle Kong of West Palm Beach, FL; brothers, Tom Wirthlin of Wyoming, David Wirthlin of Florida, and Edward Wirthlin of Washington; sisters, Pam Garrett of Utah and Patricia Crockett of Kentucky; grandchildren, Jadasey Hinton, Jameson and Steven Atkinson, Aurora-Grace, Remington, and Paisley Wirthlin, and Dominic and Aiden Hines; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at his home located at 212 Alvey Drive, Madisonville.
