Lela Hibbs, 81, of Nebo, KY passed away at 12:45 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2012 at her residence.

She was born on July 27, 1931 to the late Edgar Capps and Jessie Hammontree Capps. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Judith Hibbs Gamache; four brothers, Chester, Allen, Garland and Edwin Capps; and two sisters, Lucille Capps and Mildred Parker.

Mrs. Hibbs was a former member of the Nebo United Methodist Church and current member of Rose Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her husband, James R. Hibbs of Nebo, two daughters, Joyce (Larry) Riggs of Madisonville and Jeanetta (Matthew) Alexander of Clarksville, TN; three grandchildren, Daniel Riggs, Katie Riggs and Elsie Alexander.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 23, 2012 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Paul Stone officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery in Nebo, KY.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday at Harris Funeral Home and from noon until the funeral hour Sunday at Harris Funeral Home.
