Lawrence Anthony Peyton, Sr., 79, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Baptist Health Madisonville.

He was born in Jeffersonville, IN on December 26, 1941, to the late Roberta Rose and William Peyton. Lawrence was a United States Army veteran. He retired as a counselor at New Horizon Counseling. He enjoyed boating and watching auto racing. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Madisonville, KY.

In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Yuvonne Peyton; son, Lawrence Anthony "Tony" Peyton, Jr.; and sister, Lou Ann Whitehead.

Survivors include his daughter, Linda (Roger) Blair of Madisonville; grandsons, Alex Blair and Anthony Peyton of Madisonville; granddaughters, Cassandra "Cassie" Yvonne Buckman of Spottsville, KY, and Skylar Poole of Madisonville; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, August 16, 2021, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Chaplain Pat Dew officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Hopkins County Honor Guard at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson, KY at a later date.

A visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the service hour Monday at the funeral home.
