She was loved by many and a friend to all. Her trademark silver hair was prominent in so many local activities. Laura was born with a beautiful voice and was a long-time member of the Chancel choir at the First United Methodist Church and then at the First Christian Church in Madisonville. Her acapella version of "The Lords Prayer" was heard often, lifting all who were present. She was a founding member of Footlight Players Theatre group and active in Community Theatre into her late 70's. She sang in The Messiah for all of her adult life, singing the soprano solos at Roberts Stadium performances when in Evansville in her twenties and also in Madisonville Community Choir.
With respect to her wishes, private services will be held at a later date. Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville is in charge of arrangements.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Ridgewood Terrace for their loving care and compassion. She had a wonderful year there and thrived until her very last days.
