Larry Wayne Hopper, 68, of Manitou, KY passed away at 2:52 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

He was born on August 16, 1943 in Mortans Gap, KY to the late Carrie D. Hopper and Gayno J. Hopper, Sr. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was formerly employed with Speed Queen and Whirlpool.

He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Patsy Hopper; his son, Derrick (Lisa) Turner of Michigan; his daughter, Maile Gordon; his step-son, Michael Hurt of Georgia; three sisters, Barbara Williams of Madisonville, Estelle (Bob) Corn of Owensboro, KY and Linda Gary of Destin, FL; his brother, Gayno (Betty) Hopper, Jr. of Mortons Gap; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 in Carter Creek Cemetery in Greenville, KY with Bro. Larry Vincent officiating. With burial to follow. Military rites will be conducted graveside by the United States Marine Corp.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville.
