Jon P. Cotton, 64, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh, IN.

He was born on October 1, 1961, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Billie Joyce Nichols Cotton and Phillip Cotton. He worked for forty-four years at Outwood Rescare in Dawson Springs, KY. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tara Kimmel; and his great-grandchildren, twins Owen and Briley McKinney.

Survivors include his wife of twenty-five years, Valerie Robinson Cotton; daughter, Crystal Stevenson; son, Timothy McGregor; grandchildren, Kaitlin Stallins, Ashlynn (Damon) McKinney, Cameron (Allanah) McGregor, Caleb Bourland, and  Kaylie McGregor; and his great-grandchildren, Chase McKinney, Cade McGregor, and Aubree Ramsey.

A graveside service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. at Dunn Cemetery in Dawson Springs. Harris Funeral Home was entrusted with care.
