John R. Williams, 67, of Providence, KY passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN.

He was born on October 4, 1951 in Evansville, IN to the late Louise Allen and Howard Williams. John was a coal miner for forty-one years and retired from Armstrong Coal Company. He was of the baptist faith. John enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of forty-six years, Cindy Williams; son, Travis (Chelsea) Williams of Madisonville; daughter, Katie (Jody) Collins of Slaughters, KY; dad, Bob Allen of Madisonville; brothers, Sam (Jeanne) Williams, Jim Allen, Joe Allen and Bryan (LeAnn) Allen; sisters, Becky (Ronnie) Hendricks and Bobbie Sue Stone; grandsons, Justin Collins and Soulton Williams; granddaughters, Hannah Collins, Savvi Williams and Shorey Williams; great-grandsons, Layne Collins, Johney May and Waylon Collins; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Ronnie Hendricks officiating. Burial will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

The visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the service hour Tuesday at the funeral home.
