John Gilliam, 77, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Friday, April 26, 2019 at his home.

He was born on January 24, 1942 in Chandler, KY to the late Pearl Porter Gilliam and Melvin Gilliam. John retired after forty years from CSX Railroad. He enjoyed gardening and was of the Methodist faith.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Eva Sue Cropper.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-five years, Shirlene Gilliam; daughters, Rebecca (Jo Ann) Gilliam of Clarksville, TN, Carol (Roger) Massey of Madisonville and Melissa (Betsy) Gilliam of Lascassas, TN; son, Daniel R. (Donna) Gilliam of Bruceton, TN; brother, Kenneth (Sue) Gilliam of Bowling Green, KY; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville was entrusted with care.
