Jerry Stephen Evans, 68, of Nebo, KY passed away on Monday, October 5, 2015 at the Eddie Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson, KY.

He was born on March 3, 1947 in Damascus, VA to the late Mary Lucille Evans and James Graham Evans. Jerry was a United States Air Force Veteran and retired after twenty-nine years with General Electric. He enjoyed woodworking in his spare time and riding his Gold Wing motorcycle.

Survivors include his daughters, Susan Elaine Ritchie and husband, Gary of Damascus, VA, Amanda Brooke Jordan of Okinawa, Japan and Michelle Lander and husband, Mitch of Hanson; son, Michael Simcox of Nebo; brother, Samuel Floyd Evans and wife, Ann of Abingdon, VA; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2015 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville, KY.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Damascus, VA with Pastor Gary Ritchie officiating.
