Obituary

Jennifer Lynn Stum, 54, of Manitou, KY, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at her home.

She was born on September 17, 1969, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Donna Zane Lovan Stum and Tom Stum. In her childhood, Jennifer enjoyed cheerleading, dirt bike riding, and being the life of the party. She said the 80's were the best years of her life. Her sense of humor was unforgettable as she always had the ability to brighten anyone's day, no matter the circumstances.

She was the most perfect mother to her two daughters, Jessica Settle and Hannah Settle Trimble. As soon as Jennifer became a mother, that was her most important role. That was until she became a grandmother. Jennifer was the epitome of a grandmother. She spoiled, fed and loved her grands more than life itself.

Jennifer has been a registered nurse for the past twenty years. Her life's mission was to care for people that were hurting. She had more compassion than any one person should. She never met a stranger and always had a smile on her face.

Jennifer had a capacity for unconditional love like no other. She honestly cared how her everyday actions affected others. She was a greatly positive and caring person. She did not care to put others first and she sacrificed so much in the earlier years so her daughters could thrive.

Jennifer had been waiting on a heart transplant for several months and at the time of her death, she was the first name on the list for her blood type. She will be greatly missed and the world will never be the same without her in it.

Survivors include her daughters, Hannah (Andrew) Trimble of Campbellsburg, KY and Jessica Settle of Manitou, KY; brothers, Jeff (Leslie) Stum of Louisville, KY and Dr. Jake (Merica) Stum of Cleveland, TN; grandchildren, Oliver, Corey, Logan and Aurorra; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Dr. Jake Stum officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Per Jennifer's specific request, the family is asking you wear bright colors to the funeral.
