Jeffrey Ray Carter, Sr., 62, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville.

He was born on September 17, 1960, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Leodia Hunt Carter and Henry Fisher Carter. His passion was preaching. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of United in Christ Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Kennedy; and brother, Roger Dale Carter.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Jean Russell Carter of Madisonville; daughter, Martha Jean (Donald) Stewart of Hartford, KY; son, Jeffrey Ray (Whitney) Carter, Jr. of Madisonville; brothers, Bill (Rhonda) Carter of Earlington, KY, Stevie (Reba) Carter of Dawson Springs, KY, Henry (Traci) Carter, Jr. of Madisonville, and Rodney (LaDonna) Carter of Big Clifty, KY; several grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Harris Funeral Home was entrusted with care.
