Jean Horwedel Cullen, 87, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville.

She was born on May 18, 1936, in Cleveland, OH, to the late Regina Zackel Horwedel and LeRoy Horwedel. She was formerly employed as a nurse's aide at Ridgewood Terrace in Madisonville. She enjoyed reading. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Jean was a member of Christ the King Church in Madisonville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David "Junior" Hershel Cullen; daughter, Jean Elaine Cullen Johnson; brother, Edward Smith; sister, Margaret Matthei; and her grandson, Richard Henry Johnson.

Survivors include her daughters, Beverly Cullen and Regina Cullen, both of Madisonville; brother, Leroy Horwedel of New Jersey; grandson, Seth Matthew Adams of Madisonville; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Father Carl McCarthy officiating. Burial to follow at Dalton Cemetery in Dalton, KY.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Seth Adams, Timothy Cullen, Bryan Cullen, Steve Cullen, Randy Cullen, and Tony Coffey. Honorary pallbearers are Banzy Cullen and Joe Cullen.
