Jason Mefford, 52, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023, at his home.

He was born on August 24, 1971, in Madisonville, KY, to William "Billy" Mefford and the late Brenda Alice Dickerson Blankenship. He was employed as an electrician and heating/air serviceman from age sixteen, beginning with Johnny Reynolds Electric, E&M Heating and Air, and Hopkins County Heating and Air which was his current employer. Jason was highly regarded by his employers and by the customers he served because of his knowledge of his field of trade. He was an avid fan of NASCAR racing, especially of Jimmy Johnson, the UK Wildcats basketball team, and golf. Jason was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda, in February 2023; paternal grandparents, Rufus and Grace Mefford; maternal grandparents, William and June Dickerson; step-grandparents, Geneva and Clifton Lutz; beloved aunts, Ruth Ann Ranes, Beverly Meredith, and Gina Koon; and cousin, Branden Lee Lutz.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of twenty-five years, Lori Ellen (Bourland) Mefford; daughters, Madalynn Kate (Kristoffer Dunlap) Mefford, Gabrielle Dawn (Quinten) Campfield; son, Donavan Woods; parents, Billy and Monte Mefford; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Buddy and Jean Bourland; grandchildren, Maverick Dunlap, Eileena, Asher, and Lincoln Downs, and Annie Campfield; brother, Chris (Rachael) Mefford; and nephews, Alex and Carter Mefford to forever cherish and love him. Jason was also blessed to have a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends to continue to remember him.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Ranes officiating. Burial to follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Hanson, KY.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are the team members from Hopkins County Heating and Air.
