James Richard Young, 86, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017 at Baptist Health Madisonville.

He was born on July 29, 1930 in Madisonville to the late Annie Mae Burchett Young and William Thomas Young. Richard was a United States Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War and was formerly a delivery driver for U.C. Milk Company in Madisonville. He was a member and deacon at First Baptist Church in Madisonville.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Laura Young; son, Keith Young; several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his son, David Young and wife, Danna of Princeton, KY; grandchildren, Christy Young, Leigh Young, John David Young, Jordan Young and Josh Young; great-granddaughter, Makayla Young and Elizabeth Young; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2017 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Chaplain Sam Beeny, Sr. officiating. Burial to follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Madisonville. Military honors will be conducted graveside by the Hopkins County Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Sam Humphrey, CT Humphrey, Dave Hendricks, Russ Bell, Robert Gray and Gary Oldham. Honorary pallbearer is Tommy Day.
