James "Ken" VanCleave, 58, of Manitou, KY passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Baptist Health Madisonville.

He was born on May 2, 1962 in Henderson, KY to the late Sharron Pence VanCleave and William "Kenny" Kendrick VanCleave. Ken worked as a blaster in several mines and retired from the Hopkins County Road Department. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding 4-wheelers and gun shooting.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Christy VanCleave.

Survivors include his son, Jesse VanCleave of Nebo, KY; daughter, Mary VanCleave of Clay, KY; and his granddaughter, Morgan Kelley of Clay.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Pastor Terry Yancy officiating.

A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the service hour Tuesday at the funeral home.
