James Carroll Stanley, 81, of Madisonville, KY. passed away at 5:55 a.m. on Friday September 3, 2010 at his home.

He was born on June 15, 1929 in Hopkins County, KY. to the late Hilda Oldham Stanley and James B. Stanley. He was retired as a sales manager for Bunny Bread. He was a member of Freedom Baptist Church in Mortons Gap where he severed as a deacon.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Stanley; his sister, Joann Stanley and three great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, JoNell Clayton Stanley; two daughters, Sherry (Tink) Richardson of Mortons Gap and Debbie (Terrell McKnight) Knight of St. Charles; one son, Dennis (Sandy) Stanley of Madisonville; one sister, Nancy (Harold) Johnson of Mortons Gap; five grandchildren, Jay Richardson, Mandi Robinson, Jason Knight, Amber Knight and Michael Stanley; eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday September 7, 2010 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Lairy Noffsinger officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Pallbearers will be Gary Johnson, Philip Johnson, Mike Robinson, Randy Ferguson, Terry Harris and Steve Stanley.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday and from 11 a.m. until service time Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home.
