James "Jimmy" Smith Tippett, 62, of Manitou, KY passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Baptist Health Madisonville.

He was born on February 21, 1954 in Slaughters, KY to the late Evelyn and Joe Smith Tippett. Jimmy was a member of Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Hanson and he loved and enjoyed his dogs.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Tippett; twin sister, Jennie Bruce; and an infant brother, Jasper Wallace Tippett.

Survivors include his brother, John Roger Tippett and wife, Rhonda of Hanson; sisters, Vaneta Roberts and husband, Tom of Hanson, Jane Pleasant of Earlington, KY, Joyce Followell of Henderson, KY, Wilma Stevenson and husband, Garland of Hanson; Becky Coffman of Providence, KY, Jettie Riffe and husband, Ernie of Florida; Bobbi Mills of Madisonville, KY; Cindy Coffman and husband, Danny of Hanson; sister-in-law, Peggy Tippet; brother-in-law, David Bruce; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Olive Branch Cemetery in Hanson with Pastor Gary Taylor officiating. Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville is in charge of the arrangements.
