James Gregory Payne, 55, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022, at his home.

He was born January 23, 1967, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Shirley Knapp Payne and James Payne. He was formerly employed as a production worker at Tyson. Greg was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was an avid fan of UK basketball. His biggest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his sisters, Tammy (Kelvin) York of Hickory, KY, Kaye (Jason) Ladd of Laverne, TN, and Tina (Troy) Dame of Dawson Springs, KY; companion, Amy Crews of Madisonville; daughter, Tanna Dunlap of Hopkinsville, KY and Beth (Chris) Baker of Madisonville; grandsons, Noah Riley and Luka James Rebelle; granddaughter, Chloe Baker; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2022, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Jeff Todd officiating.

Visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. until the service hour on Thursday at the funeral home.
