James "Jimmie" Everett Arnold, Jr., 87, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 11:55 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Ridgewood Terrace Health and Rehabilitation Center in Madisonville.

He was born on February 17, 1927 in Providence, KY to the late Laura Lee Tapp Arnold and James Everett Arnold, Sr. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving during WWII. He served on the USS. Nehenta Bay in the South Pacific. He later retired as a self employed roofing contractor. James was a 32nd degree Mason and was with the C.S. Hoffman Lodge #252 F&AM for sixty-six years. He enjoyed many activities at the Senior Citizens Center in Madisonville and he was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas C. Arnold.

He is survived by his daughters, Elease (Dick) Mabrey of Madisonville and Becky (Bill) Boyd of Bradenton, FL; his sister, Jessie Edwards of Madisonville; his grandchildren, Rick (Tricia) Mabrey of Hendersonville, TN, Laura (Rory) McMahan of Marathon, FL and Barry Ferrell of Madisonville; seven great-grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Bill Crabtree officiating. Burial to follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville. Masonic rites will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made in James memory to the Senior Citizens Activities Center in Madisonville or to the charity of the donors choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
